The 73 clusters are blue inside & the face of the gauge is just black & white so it looks great when done this way. I have seen a few where they have changed the color to a red inside the cluster & it looks pretty good that way to. I went out to Walmart & got the baby blue paint in the Krylon brand & it reflects the light much better, now. Pre-Power Stroke Diesel (7.3L IDI & 6.9L) - Dim guage/dash lights Any fix - On my 1985 f250, the instrument lights are terribly dim even when they are. While I had the dash out to change the bulbs to I repainted the inside of the cluster. I like the dash nice & bright so not dimming is not a problem for me. If the new fuse doesn't last long, have it inspected at an. While the new fuse may do the trick, it could also indicate a deeper electrical problem. Removing the old fuse and replacing it should get the lights working again. I have the drive mode display set to just show the mode that it is in. The gear is definitely dimmer than the drive mode (i.e. But when turned all the way up I would say that they are just as bright. I also have them in my hood tach & after 43 years I can finally see the numbers on the hood tach face while driving down the road. If the dashboard isn't lighting up at all, your car might have blown a fuse. The left and right analog gauges are just a hair dimmer than the LED screen when not turned all the way up. No It's not the switch as I have tried a few switch's to see if that was the problem. If I use the dimmer on the switch the lights just go out.
